Variable : the research is content of discrit variable because based on the title, the researcher assume that simple present tense will give big impact to solve the problem.
Assumption/Hypothesis : 1. Assumption: the researcher would like to analyse the students problem using simple present tense when doing the descriptive writing.
2. Hypothesis : the researcher hope that through simple present tense, the students who still have problem when doing descriptive writing will be facilitated in using them correctly in a short time.
Research Problem : 1. what are the dominant errors made by the eight year students of SMP N 2 Brebes in using simple present tense? And
2. What are the possible causes of the errors, if any?
Comment : 1. in learning and using foreign language, one of inhibiting factors is the fear making mistakes or errors. Its means the students have not master yet the rules of the
language being learned.
2. To cope with this problem, one of the strategies widely used by linguist is error analysis. Error analysis is the study of students error which can be observed, analyzed,
and classified to reveal something of the system operating within the learners. Point of view implies that error analysis is useful for the teacher. Error analysis will show
teachers some problems confronting the students. It is an advantage that error analysis may be tracked down to the importance of students errors.
